Norell and Ryan’s Wedding Film — Brookside Gardens, Berthoud, Colorado Wedding Video

I first met Norell and Ryan a little over a year ago. They hadn’t even selected their venue yet and were already interviewing wedding filmmakers. So, it was clear that they were looking for the best and I was flattered when they chose Peak Impact!

Their wedding was held at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud, Colorado. It was a beautiful celebration with lots of dancing and entertainment. Their love for one another was evident all day — especially in the tears as they said their vows.

I wish them many years of happiness together. You can enjoy their wedding day by pressing play!

May and Daniel’s Sneak Peek — Della Terra, Estes Park, Colorado Wedding Video

The Della Terra in Estes Park is a gorgeous Colorado mountain venue and was the perfect setting for May and Dan’s wedding!

They had a lovely indoor ceremony and reception. As their first dance came to an end, Dan sang a special song to May. They also honored their family and friends with a traditional Korean Paebeck ceremony which was super fun for the couple and the guests!

Enjoy this Sneak Peek from their big day!

Sara and Steve’s Wedding — Greenbriar Inn Wedding Video, Boulder, Colorado

It was a chilly and rainy day in Boulder for Sara and Steve’s wedding, but the wet weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Sara and Steve were truly excited to become husband and wife!

The big event was held at the Greenbriar Inn in Boulder. The ceremony was originally scheduled to be outdoors, but had to be moved inside due to the weather. Luckily, after the ceremony, the sun came out for a few minutes and allowed Amanda and Debi from Kokoro Photography to capture some fun family photos. Then the party was moved back inside for the evening’s festivities. One of the really cool aspects from this wedding was the father/daughter dance. Sara and her dad had performed this dance when she was just a little girl taking dance lessons. They rehearsed it again and brought it back for the wedding day.

Enjoy Sara and Steve’s Feature Film!

Emily and Cameron, Tapestry House Wedding Video, LaPorte, Colorado

Emily’s mom is quoted as saying, “They are strands from the same tapestry woven together at different times.” I think that is a beautiful quote and truly summarizes Emily and Cameron’s relationship.

Emily and Cameron have a very unique story. Cameron was Emily’s younger brother’s 6th grade teacher and when Emily was in high school, she came to Cameron’s classroom as a student ambassador. They are separated by an 11 year age difference, but when you see them together, the chemistry is undeniable. They are perfect together.

Enjoy Emily and Cameron’s wedding documentary!

P.S. On a different note, I just thought I’d share a few other details from the wedding day. As a wedding vendor, it’s great when you get to work with an all-star cast of professionals, and Emily and Cam lined-up the best in the business. They were married at the Tapestry House in LaPorte, Colorado, which is a superb venue and their staff does such a great job with each wedding. Photography was provided by Sherri Barber and her husband Bill. I had the pleasure of working with them 3 times last year and they were phenomenal every time! Entertainment was provided by Elite DJ, who I’ve also worked with over the years and they always do a great job. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Michael from Behind the Scenes Catering as well. Not only does Michael do an impeccable job with his food creations and presentation, but he is tremendous at making every bride feel special on her wedding day. Behind the Scenes is truly exceptional in every way and I can’t say enough good things about Michael and his staff.

Loveland Habitat for Humanity celebrates 25 years!

On February 18th I had the pleasure of filming Loveland Habitat for Humanity’s 25th Anniversary celebration. During the last 25 years, Habitat has built nearly 100 homes in Loveland and helped a lot of families.

It was an emotional morning that included a ribbon cutting and dedication of Loveland’s newest Habitat home to its new owner, Tracy Sanchez. There were some very special moments during the dedication, but (for me anyway) the highlight was when Tracy was handed the keys to her new home. With the large crowd gathered together, the tears of joy and the official passing of the keys, it had that “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” feel.

The rest of the morning was capped with speeches from other Habitat home owners, founding members, board members, volunteers and sponsors. Tasty cupcakes were served and little measuring tapes in the form of a house were handed out to the attendees. There was even a groundbreaking for what will be the 105th Habitat home in Loveland. It will be owned by Louis and Ruth Ramos and their five children.

It was my honor to be a part of this event and donate this video highlights. Enjoy!

Remembering Amanda

Photo from Franklin’s Flying Circus on facebook

I love the proposal photo. On facebook, Kyle Franklin tells that he flew his Piper Cub to Amanda’s house, landed in her yard and asked for her hand in marriage. They were wed in October, 2005 and formed an inspiring airshow duo.

After their crash in March, I have been following Kyle’s facebook posts and praying for Amanda’s recovery. Sadly, on May 27th, Kyle posted this update:

“It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my beautiful girl Amanda passed away at 10:10 central time this evening. Beside her was her adoring husband Kyle, her mother Jeanie, her brother Matt, her sister-in-law Michelle and her devoted mother-in-law Audean.
Thank you all again for your love,
Goodnight and God bless Amanda,

He also added:

“Amanda my love, I love you with all my heart, soul and everything I am. Our life together here was supposed to be seventy years not seven, but I look forward to seeing you in my dreams every night my love.”

In video production (especially on the wedding side) I get to capture the stories from a very diverse group of people. Although I didn’t film their wedding, I had the honor of meeting Kyle and Amanda at the National Radial Engine Exhibition in 2008 and 2010. Amanda was very thorough in providing me with information about their performances beforehand and was a very genuine and gracious person. She remembered the details of our brief conversations and followed-up with me to make sure I had everything I needed from them. I’m thankful that Kyle and Amanda let me capture their performances and share their stories.

Amanda’s life may be finished, but her story lives on through photos, videos, and the memories of the people who met her. After watching the video I put together in my previous post, it just doesn’t seem right that someone so vibrant is gone. My heart goes out to Kyle and her family. She will be missed.

“Life is a risk. Walking across the street is a risk. Laying in your bed, you could have a heart attack. Everything is a risk. Why not do what you love?” –Amanda Franklin “Sons of Legends Gag Reel”

Thoughts and Prayers with Kyle & Amanda Franklin

Kyle and Amanda

Kyle and Amanda Franklin are amazing airshow performers. Their shows are intense and impressive. For people who want to see true talent on display, it just doesn’t get any better than watching Kyle and Amanda’s airshow routines.

Yesterday, I was saddened to receive an email that said that Kyle and Amanda had been in a crash while performing at an airshow in Brownsville, Texas. Kyle suffered severe burns and injuries and Amanda has multiple critical injuries including a broken neck, broken back and 3rd degree burns over 70% of her body.

For the past 5 years, my company has created a promotional video and TV show about the National Radial Engine Exhibition in Akron, Colorado. In 2008 and 2010 I had the opportunity to meet and interview Kyle and Amanda. They are very friendly, accomodating, and genuine people. Not only was I impressed with their talent, I was also impressed with their character.

Earlier today, I put the following clip together from my interview with Amanda and footage I shot of their “Pirated Skies” wingwalking performance at the 2010 NREE. Because of the dangerous nature of the airshow business, performers often have difficulty getting insurance. Funds have been set-up to help with their medical expenses. I hope others will join me in donating and assisting this wonderful couple.

To Kyle and Amanda, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you a speedy recovery.
